The Downtown Kirkwood Mayfest is Saturday, May 13. Event activities include sales and specials throughout downtown Kirkwood, live music, entertainment, Kirkwood Garden Clubs plant sale at the historic Kirkwood Train Station, the Artists in Bloom Art Show, Rail Safety Day festivities at Kirkwood Train Station at 110 E. Argonne from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. and activities at Kirkwood Farmers Market.

Kirkwood Farmers Market opens at 8 a.m. and is located at 150 E. Argonne Drive. Pick up everything you need from local producers and farmers to make a delicious Mothers Day meal for mom. Enjoy free food samples, a large selection of beautiful plants and flowers and tasty snack items that add to the fresh experience at the farmers market.The Southside Creole Playboys will fill the market with music from 10 a.m.-noon.

After visiting the farmers market, allow the friendly folks at the shops and fashion boutiques throughout downtown Kirkwood help you select the ideal Mothers Day gift. Choose from fashionable clothing, accessories, porch and patio decorations, and items for entertaining in style. After shopping, enjoy a leisurely lunch or a quick snack from the collection of unique restaurants and specialty food merchants located throughout downtown Kirkwood.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., stroll through the Artists in Bloom Art Show & Sale at Station Plaza. Numerous regional artists will show and sell their work. Kirkwood Area Arts Council will share information about local arts activities.

The Lucille Rapp dancers and tumblers will perform at Station Plaza at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13, followed by live music by Never 2 Late from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on the plaza. Station Plaza is located on Kirkwood Road across from Kirkwood City Hall.
