| Description: | From Annual Show-Me Gourd Art Festival Website: The Show-Me Gourd Society proudly hosts a weekend gourd art festival April 6-7, 2019. Gourd workshops are scheduled all weekend starting on Friday April 5. These workshops are taught by some of the most talented gourd artists and crafters in the country.
On Saturday and Sunday, the festival is open to the public. Members are invited to enter gourds, either crafted or raw, into any of the over 90 classes. Trained judges select the best gourds in each class. Ribbons are awarded for first, second, and third place. Special awards and certificates are also given.
A host of vendors sell their wares at the festival. They have raw gourds of all shapes and sizes, crafted gourds, patterns, books, tools, dyes, embellishments, and many other supplies. The SMGS also provides educational displays and informative handouts free to public.
